If America were under attack would you stand up to defend her ?

'Prescription for disaster' illustration.                          by Steven Doyle

The opioid epidemic has become a threat like none we've faced before

More people died this past year in Maine from opioid s than car accidents suicides or breast cancer

If al queda or the taliban were secretly destroying America by infiltration what would we do about it ?

Unless proven they broke a law what could we legally do ?

We have protections written in to the United States Constitution to protect ethnic  groups from discrimination and the First Amendment protects all of us from unfair religious practices

Especially since most Muslim  and middle eastern Americans are probably as proud of being American and would defend their nation as vigorously as any of us

It's okay tho because as far as I know al queda deash or taliban arent the cause of our national emergency opioid epidemic

the part of afghanistan under u s control is

Heroin was first commercially produced by the German World War 2  defense corporation Bayer Pharmaceutical, oxycondone was first created by the German world war 2 defense contractor Merck and fentanyl was invented by the German chemist Paul Janssen who studied chemistry in nazi occupied Namur, Belgium during World War 2

" The death toll reached 378 in 2016, driven almost entirely by opioids – prescription painkillers, heroin and now fentanyl, a powerful synthetic. More than one victim per day. More than car accidents. Or suicide. Or breast cancer "

" Wright's invention did not lead to any further developments, and diamorphine became popular only after it was independently re-synthesized 23 years later by another chemist, Felix Hoffmann.[71] Hoffmann, working at Bayer pharmaceutical company in Elberfeld, Germany, was instructed by his supervisor Heinrich Dreser to acetylate morphine with the objective of producing codeine, a constituent of the opium poppy, pharmacologically similar to morphine but less potent and less addictive. Instead, the experiment produced an acetylated form of morphine one and a half to two times more potent than morphine itself. The head of Bayer's research department reputedly coined the drug's new name, "heroin," based on the German heroisch, which means "heroic, strong" (from the ancient Greek word "heros, ήρως"). Bayer scientists were not the first to make heroin, but their scientists discovered ways to make it, and Bayer led commercialization of heroin.[72]"

" What we can say is that Morell writes in his notes that he is lacking the drugs that he had been giving Hitler in late 1944. In 1945, these drugs are not available to him anymore, or they're hard to come by. ... The fact is the Merck Co. in Darmstadt had been destroyed by British air raids in December 1944, so Merck was not able to produce Eukodal anymore, and Morell doesn't give any of the potent substances that he gave Hitler before. He doesn't give any of those in 1945. "

" Hydrocodone was first synthesized in Germany in 1920 by Carl Mannich and Helene Löwenheim.[46] "

" Fentanyl was first made by Paul Janssen in 1960,[9] following the medical inception of pethidine (also known as meperidine, marketed as Demerol) several years earlier. Janssen developed fentanyl by assaying analogues of the structurally related drug pethidine for opioid activity.[10]  "

" During World War II, Janssen studied physics, biology, and chemistry at the Facultés universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix (FUNDP) in Namur. He then studied medicine at the Catholic University of Leuven and the University of Ghent. In 1951, Janssen graduated "magna cum laude" in medicine from the University of Ghent. "

" During his military service, he worked at the University of Cologne in Germany at the Institute of Pharmacology of J. Schuller, where he worked until 1952. "

" Despite being billed as virtually impregnable, the citadel fell after only three days' fighting and the town was occupied by the Germans for the rest of the war. Namur fared little better in World War II; it was in the front lines of both the Battle of the Ardennes in 1940 and the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. The town suffered heavy damage in both wars. "
